1. This important decision is very much applicable to this horrible problem. For example, I want to call your attention to a movie “The Cove”. This is a story about the Japanese slaughter of Dolphins. So cruel is the practice, the utmost secrecy is maintained, to keep it away from the world and groups who oppose the practice. This is also kept away from the Japanese public. I recommend seeing “The Cove” to help spur individual compassion.
2. As I have said before, the ocean is not our supermarket, and the practice of religions and the medical industry to eat and recommend fish is an absolute tragedy. This must be stopped, and it can only be stopped by raising our consciousness, and not by picketing and petitions or by the violence of PETA and Green Peace. Their intention is for sure, commendable, but their approach is condemned by the authorities and the public, and therefore, ineffective and counter-productive.
3. I have long felt that the key to raising our consciousness is not, and cannot be driven by discipline or some spiritual trips. We must replace our insensitivity by cleaning and nourishing the body, and stop treating the body like a garbage can. Fasting is where to begin, because through this process, the body drains physically and mentally, and in place of this congestion and irritation, sensitivity and our deepest caring will be realized.
4. I have concluded that nothing can change in this greed driven system unless we change. As far as the dolphins and whales are concerned, the citizens of the countries where these creatures are consumed need to be freed and educated away from the greed, religion, and other cultural nonsense that leaves them in a terminal rut.
5. Governments all over the earth are plagued by the condition of its citizens - high asthma rate, addiction, diabetes, high blood pressure, ADHD of our children…all reflect the way we live and the awful ways we conduct the business of our lives. Young persons who have various mental and physical problems grow up and enter into marriage and have babies, and the madness continues.
6. It is quite a dilemma, but after many years and many tries at intervention, we have proven that their methods have failed. The addiction problem all over the world is a glaring example of their failed approaches. Green Peace and PETA do not make an effort to remove the cause, they too are treating a symptom. We know now that it is relatively easy to work on an individual, however, to change or reform a culture that is steeped in past traditions, is indeed, a formidable task.
7. Over the past 50 years since I left the system, I must admit I didn’t know where I was going, and I had been plagued all my life with poor health, so it was easy to see the doctor’s failures, because they have been practicing on me for 15 years. To give you an example, the last doctor told my father that the reason I had sores all over my body was because I picked off the scab. Needless to say, my strict father believed him and as a result, I was constantly assaulted for causing the problem. I have just described a scenario that cannot raise our consciousness sufficiently to concern ourselves with any abuse, particularly in our presently abused state.
8. So, to my friends who say I should become more radically involved, I say, “I’m involved up to my ears.” The day I realized that under certain circumstances, the body can recover through fasting and application of the natural laws, and further, that the condition of the body produces the mentality, this is a very important point to consider. This is hard to believe, because we were led to believe that the brain was a separate entity. That’s why the profession of Psychology and Psychiatry became a reality. But the body and the mind is not separate, the mind eliminates by stinky behavior, and the body eliminates a stinky odor – both sound the same to me!
9. Presently, there is plenty of discontent. Discontent, we are beginning to realize, is really the first step towards progress. Billions have been denied health and freedom, and one of the worst areas of our life is the condition of our bodies. Most go to a doctor often, but if we get better and take responsibility for our well-being as we should, then the doctor will go out of business, as they should. Drug companies will also lose, and soon, most will realize our bodies’ amazing ability to recover without the failure of the medical industry. However, we still need the wonderful expertise of emergency medicine.
10. It is truly heartbreaking to hear that animals are being abused, such as the dolphins in Japan that Jonah brought to my attention. I remember many years ago, the same practice of herding dolphins into a small cove and killing them was prevalent in Newfoundland, the place of my birth. This atrocity has stirred many to walk picket lines, write letters, but these responses have been going on for many years, and all we are showing for that effort, is continued horrible creature abuse and proof that our consciousness is low.
11. The systems that protect creatures have failed, but when we get better, that is the most positive effort toward raising our sensitivity. When we learn to care for ourselves, we learn to care, and that’s the beginning.
All the very best,

P.S. When we raise our consciousness, it will help our marriages, women will not go through life suspicious of men; children will be freer to express, which means a total overhaul of the school system; and the earth will become our legitimate home, and not subject to our stupidity, and that means that we should become “owners” and not “renters” of the earth.
We are so out of balance and unhappy that we captivate these Dolphins and train them as clowns to keep us amused in amusement parks. The poor creatures are victims of our insanity simply because they look cute. The Japanese capture the Dolphins for sale to marine parks and dolphinaria. Trainers enter the cove, pick their Dolphins and the rest are killed and sold as meat by the Japanese to maximize profits. Releasing them back to the ocean is too much work and doesn’t earn them a cent. What makes my hair stand is the fact that the government is aware and in support of this act. When the Japanese public was interviewed and asked if they are aware whale meat available in the market could in fact be dolphin meat, most think it is cruel and disgusting. However in my opinion, what makes consuming whale meat less cruel? Dolphins are cuter and serve better as clowns than meat? Whales and dolphins belong to the same family and I agree with Ray that the ocean is not our supermarket!
ReplyDeleteI never thought I will one day become a vegetarian as I couldn’t find a reason to be one. I was not into religion, my family members are non-vegetarian, the school doesn’t support vegetarianism and I do not have any friend who is a vegetarian. It seems right and normal to be a meat eater. The day I found out about OurPlace and Herbert Shelton changed everything. I started to read up, question and use my common sense. I realized that if meat is suppose to nourish us, then why are we getting sicker and cancer is occurring in younger and younger children? Everybody knows of someone, if not a few, who died of cancer. Insurance coverage for my family was a priority as I truly believed we cannot escape cancer in old age. When I found out the true causes of diseases, I was so relieved! And the best thing is, I now know the way to prevent it! It is a wonderful feeling to know that mother nature intended for all of us to be perfect and she didn’t create that germ to make us sick or modify our genes to make us weak. She created such a beautiful world for us to enjoy, and the reason we are now plagued by diseases and troubles is because we choose to be outlaws of nature.
We are falling behind and we need to change fast before the situation becomes irreversible. We may be the highest evolved organism on earth but we are also the weakest. Nature tends to eliminate the weakest and to ensure our survival, we have to get better! I hope mother nature is forgiving and gives us enough time…..
